Horde Webmail User Guide - User Manual

This is quick reference guide to follow for checking email accounts via the new webmail system (Horde).

Login to WebMail

Open a web browser and go to http://webmail.yourdomain.com (Example: http://webmail.entertop.net)

Enter your Username(email ID) and password and click Log In

Using Webmail

Upon successful login you will see this screen:


Clicking the mail icon on the left menu will bring you to the inbox, where you can
perform email functions such as read/send/manage email.

To read a message, simply click on the sender or subject.



From this screen, you can delete, reply and forward your message.





Composing a message
To compose a message click on New Message from the top menu in the mail screen.
This will bring up a message composition window.




Changing Password
To change a password, open the My Account folder and select Password.



Type in the old password, new password and confirm then click Change Password.

Remember, the password is there to protect you and the rest of the internet from
malicious attacks. It cannot be stressed enough that the password should be difficult
to compromise. 6-8 characters, a mix of numbers, capital, and lower case letters is
highly recommended. Never use the User ID as the password!

Horder Webmail - Open email message in diferrent way

Sometimes Horde webmail very difficult open email message, when sender sending an invalid email format to you.

So here is the solution to open email message in different method.

1. click and tick the message box that you want to open.
2. click the "View Messages" link.
3. the messages will be open.

Horde mail can not attach 2 MB (2097152 bytes) files

Question : I am using Horde mail, I attach one file with 12MB, but it prompt me the bellow message.
Solution : Due to the Horde mail got a limit here (Maximum Attachment Size: 2,097,152 bytes), we suggest you using the outlook or other email client to sending attachment file more than 2 MB or you may use google (gmail) and yahoo.com to send or receive you website mail.

Use Yahoo Mail to send and received mail your company emails

Can not writing in Chinese words in horde webmail

Question: When I write e-mail using our web-mail (Horde Web base email),it seem do not accept writing in Chinese, all Chinese words appear with "???" mark,

Solution: After you login into http://webmail.xxxxx.com, you must select the language in "Chinese (Simplified) （简体中文）


When you writing in email (New Messages) you have to select the Charset "Chinese Simplified (GB 2312)"

Webmail - Can’t Delete messages from HORDE

When I try to delete a message from webmail it fails with: 'There was an error deleting messages from the folder "Inbox". This is what the server said: [TRYCREATE] Mailbox does not exist.'

RESOLUTION

Most probalby you have switched your webmail to "When deleting messages, move
them to your Trash folder instead of marking them as deleted?" in Horde IMP
preferences under "Options" -> "Deleting and Moving Messages".

Please make sure that trash folder was created and selected under "Trash folder:" option.
